An exciting new community storytelling project led by Dr Anna Ploszajski and Dr Sarah Jones, funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering
Welsh Engineering Stories aims to engage local communities in Swansea with the past, present and future of Welsh engineering through story.
And we’re recruiting volunteer engineers who live and work in South Wales to be our storytellers!

What does it involve?
Oct 2024
You’ll receive training from our storytelling and public speaking experts to write and tell your engineering story.
Nov - Dec 2024
You’ll run an in-person session with a local Year 9 class to tell your story, and teach them your new storytelling skills.
Jan - Feb 2025
Keeping in contact online, you’ll support the class to create their own stories of imagined futures of engineering in Wales.
Spring 2025
A storytelling celebration event, bringing together local heritage experts to tell the stories of engineering past, you lovely engineers to speak to engineering present, and a display of the school students’ stories representing engineering futures.

Who we are
Dr Anna Ploszajski is an award-winning materials engineer, storyteller, author, presenter and trainer.
Dr Sarah Jones is one of Wales’ best-loved comedians, presenters and geomicrobiologists.
